For the fourth straight month, Borgata Online Casino has edged out Caesars Online Casino according to the April revenue numbers for online casinos in New Jersey. Golden Nugget Online Casino still leads the pack, as they have been for a while now.
Resorts Online Casino, while lagging well behind Golden Nugget in total revenue for the month of April and the 2019 calendar year, has held steady in second place. However, the next two spots, Borgata Online Casino and Caesars Online Casino, have been very close in terms of revenue, even with Borgata holding on to that third spot out of the NJ online sportsbooks.
Borgata Ahead, But Caesars Online Casino Stays Close In Revenue Figures
Check out the figures below to see how close the race is between Borgata and Caesars. In 2018, there was a difference of $8.67 million in gross revenue between Borgata Online Casino and Caesars Online Casino. That variance has shrunk considerably between the two NJ online casinos through the first four months of 2019, with Borgata at $20.2 million and Caesars at $18.6 million.
|NJ Online Casino Revenue (Month/Year)||Borgata Online Casino Revenue||Caesars Online Casino Revenue|
|Jan. 2019||$4.74 million||$4.58 million|
|Feb. 2019||$4.51 million||$4.28 million|
|Mar. 2019||$5.44 million||$5.14 million|
|April 2019||$5.46 million||$4.58 million|
|YTD 2019||$20.20 million||$18.60 million|
|YTD 2018||$54.32 million||$45.65 million|
A difference of $1.6 million is what has separated the two, but Borgata has maintained their lead throughout all those four months. In fact, the separation between Borgata Online Casino and Caesars hadn’t been more than $300,000 before April, which saw Borgata finally extend their lead over Caesars by around $880,000.
It will be interesting to see whether Caesars can shrink the gap or overtake Borgata at some point in NJ online casino revenue in 2019, or if Borgata will continue the April trend and keep ’em separated while possibly making a push for Resorts Online Casino’s second-place spot.
